Les Grandes Heures Automobiles - the golden age of motorsport at the Linas-Montlhéry racetrack
Step back in time to the heyday of motorsport on a legendary track!
Come along to this unique event at Linas-Montlhéry on the last weekend in September and admire a dazzling array of remarkable cars and motorbikes - classic or modern, but all absolutely authentic.
Staged this year for the first time, but intended to become an annual gathering, Les Grandes Heures Automobiles has been organised by Franz Hummel, the brains behind the Rondes Hivernales and 24 Heures de Glaces ice racing events between 1974 and 2004 and, more recently, the Week-Ends De l’Excellence events in Reims.
“We are delighted to be able to hold this new and prestigious event at the Linas-Montlhéry racetrack, this famous temple of speed and record-setting venue”, Franz enthuses. “It isn’t a competition, because there will be no time-keeping, but this prestigious setting is the finest venue you could image for such a celebration of beautiful engineering.”
The scene for all manner of amazing exploits for over a century, the venerable old track is preparing a lavish celebration to welcome the return of its former glories, cars and motorbikes, and the arrival of their most iconic descendants. Including a wide range of series, categorised by different vintages and categories, the event promises to be action-packed - and there’s even one evening session which continues until 10pm.
There are no entry fees: applications for approval by the selection committee are now open and are completely free of charge.
So come along and share this unique experience with us on 26 and 27 September!
